What Are Bass Earbuds?
Unlike regular earbuds – bass earbuds will pump in some extra low end – resulting in even more powerful sound. This is a big upside, since regular earbuds are almost always lacking in bass frequencies.
We’ve acquired multiple pairs of earbuds for all our devices – since normal earbuds just won’t cut it for some types of music (in our non-elitist opinion). If you’re cranking techno, EDM, or hip hop – you’re going to need that bass.
You can still use normal earbuds for business calls, podcasts, and acoustic music. But it’s our opinion that regular earbuds just won’t cut it, when it comes to hard-hitting music – so we were pretty psyched to test all of the pairs on this list.

Another important factor to look at, when it comes to buying earbuds, is whether or not they will last. You don’t want to buy a pair that will last for weeks – you want earbuds that will last for years.

Do Earphones Have Bass?
Earphones typically do not have much bass, which is one of the deficiencies of their design. However, this is why the enhanced bass earbuds on our list exist.

If you’re listening on another device, simply refer to the user’s guide for the product, and adjust the EQ until you’ve got more bass in your audio’s signal path.
Why Is There No Bass In My Headphones?
If you’re listening with earbuds, there is typically not much bass. This is one of the unfortunate flaws of the earbud design.
However, normal headphones should have at least some bass response, so if you’re not getting any low end, check to make sure that you have the headphone plug fully inserted. Additionally, you may need to adjust the EQ, to accentuate the bass.

Is Bass Harmful To Ears?
Bass isn’t specifically harmful to your ears – but loud music can be. This is especially true of jacking up the volume of your headphones, as prolonged loudness close to your eardrum can cause major damage.
Experts recommend keeping the volume down whenever you use headphones, since this will help protect your ears. A good general rule is to still be able to hear outside noise when wearing earbuds – as this will be roughly the proper level to avoid any potential hearing damage.
What Hz Is Bass On An Equalizer?
When it comes to an equalizer, bass is on the low end of the spectrum. Whereas high-pitched audio will be in the thousands of Hz, bass resides between 50 and 250 Hz.
This will be the lowest end of bass, but low-mid frequencies can extend higher. However, these frequencies aren’t typically enhanced with bass earbuds.

However, the downside of this approach, is that your ears quickly become fatigued. Older records and recordings have more dynamic range, which may be quieter, but won’t fatigue your ears.
