Ever since the iPad was introduced by Steve Jobs in 2010 – it has taken over the world. Whether you want a small tablet, or a workhorse – there is an iPad for everyone. More than 350 million iPads have been sold (so far), and sales don’t look to be slowing down anytime soon.
But which iPad is right for you? There are more models than ever. So we did the research, tested every model, and aggregated tens of thousands of online reviews. After extensive testing, we were able to find the best iPad, for every need.
Our Top Pick
Apple iPad Pro
Closer to a laptop than a tablet, the iPad Pro is for the person who needs high performance. While it does not have the lowest price point, it is our pick for the best iPad. There is literally nothing you can’t do with this model, and the experience is unrivaled. With over 300 rave reviews online, the consensus is unanimous – the iPad Pro is a stellar pick.
Other Great Picks
Apple iPad Air
First introduced in 2013, the iPad Air is a great choice as well. The thinner and lighter-weight iPad Air is a great combination of features, and is perfect for someone who wants a great tablet – but doesn’t quite need all the features of the iPad Pro. Highly recommended.
Apple iPad
The classic iPad is still a very popular option, for anyone looking for a tablet computer. With over 4,000 stellar online reviews, the iPad offers an amazing touchscreen, intuitive user interface design, and great portability. If you want a great tablet, but still want to save some money – and don’t need all the high-end features of the iPad Pro – this is a great pick.
Apple iPad Mini
The iPad Mini is a great choice, and it offers a 7-inch screen – putting it somewhere near the iPhone, but with increased processing power. The Retina display is gorgeous, and the price point is the best of any iPad. The perfect budget choice.
What Is An iPad?
Taking over the world since its launch in 2010, the Apple iPad is a consumer tablet. For those of may not know, an electronic tablet is essentially your smartphone and computer – simply combined into one device.
If you have an iPhone, the layout and GUI (graphical user interface) of an iPad will look very familiar. This is because the iPhone relies on the same underlying technology as an iPad does, in terms of operating system and software.
However, with a much bigger screen, and a light weight – the iPad is far more portable than a laptop. An iPad is great for many different functions – but one of our favorite areas it excels in, is for reading books.
Imagine being able to take the entire world’s library – no matter where you go. This is what an iPad does. It is a truly remarkable device, and even 20 years ago – it was a completely unthinkable possibility.
iPad Pro
There are multiple models of the iPad, and the iPad Pro is the Rolls Royce. It has every feature imaginable, and has huge processing power. You’ll also get the best camera, the best microphone, and the best battery life.
There is also lidar on the iPad Pro – not an essential feature, but it’s very nice to have. The display on the iPad Pro is also amazing, and there is also a huge amount of storage.
If you need an iPad for a professional setting, or you simply just want the best – this is the model for you.

iPad Mini
The iPad Mini is (shockingly) the smallest iPad on the market. While the iPad Mini is not loaded with the most features – it is extremely portable.
With the ability to fit right inside your purse, and with a price point far lower than the iPad Pro, it’s a great choice for anyone who travels frequently. The iPad Mini is also compatible with the iPad Pencil, so you can create content on it – not just consume content.
The iPad Mini also has great battery life, and will work with all previous generations of iPad Mini accessories. It is by far the best small tablet on the market, and comes with top of the line processing power.
iPad Air
One of the most popular iPads on the market, the iPad Air is a great mix of features and affordability. By taking all of the features from the previous generation iPad Pro, and making the device much lighter – Apple has worked miracles.
The price of the iPad Air also can’t be beat, and truthfully it puts most other tablets to shame. The newest generation of the iPad Air also comes with a bigger screen, which greatly improves the user experience.
If you want an iPad that is well-priced, offers great performance, and will still be portable – the iPad Air is definitely the best choice for you.

How To Reset An iPad
Resetting an iPad is easy, but it’s important to make sure any important content is backed up first. To do this, simply use the iCloud feature, which can be found within your system settings.
After everything is properly backed up, go back into system settings. Choose the option called ‘general’, and then choose the ‘reset’ option.
Hit ‘erase all content and settings’, and then confirm your choice. Boom – your iPad is now completely reset.
How Much Is An iPad?
iPads range from highly affordable, to a little bit more expensive. On the low end, iPads cost less than $300. On the high end, iPads can go for more than $800.
You should carefully review the specifications of each model, before deciding on a choice. Since an iPad will last for 5-10 years, spending a little more upfront may be a better decision – as the technology will only move forward, never backward.
How To Take A Screenshot On An iPad
Taking a screenshot on an iPad is very easy, and just requires the press of two buttons. Press down on the top button and the home button simultaneously – that’s it.
Once you’ve taken the screenshot, you’ll see a preview of it in the bottom right corner of the screen. If you have the sound on, you’ll also hear the traditional sound of a camera clicking, while you take the screenshot.

How To Delete Apps On An iPad
Deleting apps from your iPad is extremely easy. From the home screen, simply click and hold on the application you’d like to remove.
From there, you’ll get a pop-up menu, and simply choose the option to delete the app. That’s it – gone in a flash.
How To Sync iPhone And iPad
One huge advantage to having an iPad, comes in if you have an Apple iPhone. You can easily sync your iPad and iPhone – meaning you don’t have to switch between devices to do any work.
To do this, simply go into the system settings, then choose iCloud. From here, switch the toggle next to any app, to allow that application to sync between your iPhone and iPad. It couldn’t be any easier than that!
Are There Any Dealbreakers?
No device in the technology world is perfect, and of course this applies to the iPad too. For example, if you have all Windows machines (and an Android phone) – you may not benefit as much from an iPad.
In this case, you’d be better suited getting a tablet that runs Windows, of which there are many. Please see our reviews of the best tablet, to find the one that is right for you.
Another caveat with the iPad, would be if you already own a smartphone and laptop – and truly would never use any of the features on an iPad. While we still think it would be beneficial to have one (especially since the basic models are now so low-priced) – you may decide you don’t need another device.
For example, if you prefer to limit your screen time, and like reading paper books – an iPad may not make sense for you. The bottom line though, is that 95% of the population (or perhaps even more) – loves their iPad. It is truly one of the only ‘must-have’ devices out there.
Is An iPad Worth The Cost?
When it first launched, the iPad was seen as more of a luxury device. This is because the initial cost was very high, and it was not yet well-understood how revolutionary the device would actually be.
Nowadays, there are multiple models of the iPad available, with some being very inexpensive. The overall cost of the iPad is also down, unless you go for the most deluxe model.
We would say that the iPad (in any form) is absolutely worth the cost. The huge amount of functions it can perform is incalculable, and our staff uses the iPad for FaceTime with our family, reading books, work meetings, and even processing transactions.
Since the cost has become so low (especially for the basic models) – there’s very few reasons why you wouldn’t benefit from an iPad. Apple also has excellent customer service, so you won’t need to replace your iPad for 5-10 years, in most cases.
There are few products that we’d say are truly essential to modern life – but we would say this about an iPad. No matter what your budget is, we definitely recommend picking one up.
Which iPad Is Best For Me?
Choosing between the numerous iPad models is a very easy task. By simply assessing your needs first, you will be able to determine if you need to break the bank and pay for the top of the line iPad Pro – or if you’re better suited with the smaller iPad Mini.
For our overall recommendation, we suggested the regular iPad – this will suit the average user’s needs quite well – and won’t be as expensive.
If you want to move up from that recommendation, go with the iPad Pro. They are the Rolls Royce of iPads, and are even better than some laptops on the market.
If you think you’ll be using your iPad less, or have budgetary concerns, you can take a step down from the regular iPad model, and go with an iPad air. They won’t have the best performance of every iPad available, but they are still incredible machines.
If portability is your thing (or you have a strict budget) – go with an iPad Mini. They are extremely easy to travel with, and offer so much, at such a low price point. You can even easily take an iPad Mini to the beach – where you can read any book in the world (or listen to any song ever recorded) – at the mere press of a button.
The truth is – there really are no bad iPads out there. So no matter what your needs are – there is a perfect model out there for you.
If you want the top of the line – go with an iPad Pro. If you want to spend less – an iPad Air (or an iPad Mini) may be a better choice for you.
